Determining Child Support

Henderson Legal Group • Apr 21, 2014

Cases involving child support can stem from multiple scenarios. Even adjustments to a standing arrangement can prove troublesome. Whether the child support case is the result of divorce or the Department of Revenue initiates child support enforcement, at Henderson Legal Group we have the knowledge and experience to advocate for you and appropriate child support payments.

The state follows guidelines in calculating child support payments based on the amount of money each parent earns and the number of children involved. However these variations exist:

  • How much time each parent spends with the child
  • Income levels for each parent
  • Health insurance costs
  • Child care/daycare costs

Payments are calculated based on parental income and time spent caring for the child. Child support payments are decreased the more time the child spends with that parent.

At Henderson Legal Group we are aware how strenuous a child support payment battle can become. If you believe your child support payment should be modified we are prepared to go to great lengths to defend your rights and your paycheck.
